Cowgirl Basketball Comes Up Short With 63-62 Loss Against Fresno State
The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team (24-7 overall, 12-4 MW) had their Reese's Mountain West Tournament run ended with a 63-62 loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs (23-8 overall, 13-3 MW) on Friday afternoon in Las Vegas.

The Wyoming basketball program returns home on Wednesday to host the Fresno State Bulldogs. The game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. Live stats, audio and video can be found through the women's basketball Gameday Central page located on the www.gowyo.com website.

Wyoming is 12-5 overall and 3-3 in MW action after a tough 72-69 loss against Nevada on Saturday afternoon. Kayla Woodward is averaging a team high 17.0 points plus 7.2 rebounds, while Fallon Lewis is adding 15.1 points and a team high 9.8 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 13.9 points and Marquelle Dent leads the way with 4.2 assists plus 8.6 points per game. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 434-1050 (.413) from the field while averaging 42.1 rebounds and 72.3 points per game.

Fresno State enters the contest with a 12-7 overall record and 6-2 in MW play. Last time out, FSU defeated UNLV, 70-52, in Fresno. They are led by Taylor Thompson who is averaging 13.2 points plus 4.9 rebounds. Jacinta Vandenberg is adding a team high 6.2 boards along with 6.1 points. As a team, the Bulldogs average 68.1 points and 37.5 rebounds per contest.

This will be 20th meeting between the two schools. Fresno State leads the series 10-9. The last time the two teams met was March 15, 2013 as the Bulldogs defeated the Cowgirls, 63-62, in the semifinals of the MW tournament. The two teams split the regular season series during the year. They are coached by Raegen Pebley who is in her second year with the program.
