    The Cowgirl basketball team will close out the first part of the Mountain West Conference season on the road this week. They will take on the BYU Cougars, on Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Provo. The game is set to tip off at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on BYU TV. Check your local listings for the game in your area.     Wyoming is currently 16-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play after an eight point victory, 59-51, over San Diego State on Saturday afternoon. Hillary Carlson leads the team in scoring with 18.7 points per game, while adding 7.5 rebounds. Aubrey Vandiver follows closely with 17.0 points and a team leading 9.1 rebounds per game. The Cowgirls are shooting .435 (472-1086) from the field, 146-406 (.360) from beyond the arc and 245-358 (.684) from the charity stripe.

    Carlson ranks first in scoring, second in blocked shots, third in field goal percentage while being seventh in rebounding in overall games. Vandiver is among the Top 12 in points, rebounds, assists, minutes played and field goal percentage while senior Jade Kennedy is second in minutes played, assist/turnover ratio and sixth in assists. In league games, Carlson is first in scoring, second in blocked shots, fourth in field goal percentage and fifth in rebounding. Vandiver is second in scoring and fifth in rebounding.

    BYU is currently 14-7 overall and 6-1 in the MWC. They are led by Mindy Bonham who is averaging a team high 12.1 points along with 3.8 rebounds. She is followed by Coriann Fraughton who is adding 10.6 points and a team leading 6.9 rebounds. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 23-10 overall and 11-2 in the MWC last year.

    This is the 70th meeting between the two schools. BYU leads the series 48-21. The last time the two teams met was March 25, 2010 as the Cougars defeated the Cowgirls, 67-63, in the third round of the WNIT tournament. BYU is coached by Jeff Judkins who is in his tenth season with the program.
