Cowgirl Basketball Begins Two Game Road Swing Against Nevada

The Wyoming women's basketball team will play their first of a two game road swing on Wednesday, Feb. 13, against the Nevada Wolf Pack. The game is set to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. MT in Reno, Nev. Live stats and audio can be found at www.gowyo.com.
The Cowgirls are currently 18-4 overall and 7-2 in MW play after a 77-60 win over Boise State last Saturday. They are also on a five game winning streak dating back to January 23. Four of five starters are averaging double-figures led by Chaundra Sewell. She is averaging 15.1 points and a league leading 9.7 rebounds. Kayla Woodward follows closely with 14.8 points and 6.1 rebounds while Kaitlyn Mileto is adding 12.9 points. Senior Ashley Sickles is chipping in 11.0 points and 5.5 boards as well.
Wyoming is first in the league in scoring offense (73.0 ppg), rebounding margin (+9.0) and assists (16.1 aspg). They are also shooting 573-1257 (.456) from the field and 146-380 (.384) from beyond the arc. Both rank first in the league. In Mountain West games, they are first in scoring offense, rebounding margin, assists and field goal percentage, second in free throw percentage and scoring defense.
Nevada comes into the game 6-16 overall and 1-8 in the MW. Last time out, they lost to Air Force, 63-56, in Colorado Springs. They are led by Danika Sharp who is averaging 13.5 points per game while Emily Burns is bringing down a team leading 7.0 rebounds. Chanelle Brennan is also adding 12.7 points and 5.4 rebounds They return two starters and nine letterwinners to a team that went 7-23 overall and 4-12 in the Western Athletic Conference a year ago.
This will be the 14th meeting between the two schools and the second time this season. Wyoming leads the series 9-4 and has won the last five in a row. The last time the two teams met was January 12, 2013 as the Cowgirls defeated the Wolf Pack 92-41 in Laramie. Nevada is coached by Jane Albright who is in her fifth season with the program.
