Cowgirl Basketball Faces Boise State in Second Straight Road Game

The Wyoming basketball team will close out the week on the road against the Boise State Broncos, on Saturday, March 1. The game is set to tip-off at 2:00 p.m. in Boise at Taco Bell Arena. The Cowgirls are 19-7 overall and 10-5 in MW action after a 73-32 victory over Air Force, on Wednesday night, in Colorado Springs. Kayla Woodward is averaging a team high 17.8 points plus 7.2 rebounds, while Fallon Lewis is adding 14.7 points and a team high 9.6 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 14.0 points and Marquelle Dent leads the way with 486 assists plus 10.1 points per game. In league games, Woodward is third in scoring (18.3 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (7.3 rpg). Mileto is currently sixth in scoring with 14.5 points per game, while Lewis leads the league in rebounding with 9.9 per game.
Wyoming is second in the league in assists (16.3 aspg), third in scoring offense (74.3 ppg) and scoring defense (64.0 ppg), plus fourth in rebounding margin. They are also shooting 178-4995 (.357) from beyond the arc and 676-1582 (.427) from the field, which are first and second respectively. In Mountain West games, they are second in scoring offense, assists, field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage and third in scoring defense.
Boise State is 15-11 overall and 10-5 in MW play heading into this weekend's game. Last time out, the Broncos lost to Fresno State, 78-72, in overtime. They are led by Deanna Weaver who averages a team high 13.6 points and 6.2 rebounds. Miquelle Askew follows with 13.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest. They return three starters and five letterwinners to a team that went 11-19 overall and 4-12 in the MW last year.
This will be 13th meeting between the two schools. The series is tied up at six all. The last time the two teams met was January 11, 2014 as the Cowgirls defeated the Broncos, 55-48, in Laramie. They are coached by Gordy Presnell who is in his ninth season with the program.
