    The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will close out the MWC season by hosting the BYU Cougars, on Saturday, March 5. The game time is set for 2:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. Live stats can be followed or audio can be found on www.wyomingathletics.com.

    Wyoming is currently 22-6 overall and 12-3 in conference play. They earned a 63-50 victory over San Diego State on Wednesday night. Aubrey Vandiver is averaging a team leading 18.6 points and 9.2 rebounds, while Hillary Carlson is adding 16.8 points and 7.1 boards per contest. The Cowgirls are shooting a league leading .438 (656-1499) from the field and 209-568 (.368) from beyond the arc, plus 348-494 (.704) from the charity stripe.

    Vandiver is among the Top 15 in points, rebounds, assists, minutes played and field goal percentage. Carlson ranks second in blocked shots, fourth in scoring and field goal percentage and ninth in rebounding in overall games. Senior Jade Kennedy is first in minutes played, second in assist/turnover ratio and eighth in assists. In league games, Carlson is third in blocked shots, fifth in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage and eighth in rebounding. Vandiver is first in scoring, second in minutes played and rebounding plus seventh in field goal percentage.

    BYU is currently 22-7 overall and 14-1 in the MWC. They are led by Mindy Bonham who is averaging a team high 12.3 points along with 3.5 rebounds. She is followed by Coriann Fraughton who is adding 11.7 points and a team leading 7.4 rebounds. They return four starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 23-10 overall and 11-2 in the MWC last year.

    This is the 71st meeting between the two schools. BYU leads the series 49-21. The last time the two teams met was February 2, 2011 as the Cougars defeated the Cowgirls, 73-48, in Provo. BYU is coached by Jeff Judkins who is in his tenth season with the program.
