LARAMIE, Wyo. -

For the first time in her career, junior Kayla Woodward was among four individuals selected to the WBCA All-Region VII Team announced today by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The selection committee will select the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team from 52 All-Region candidates. The 2014 WBCA Division I Coaches' All-America Team will be announced Saturday April 5, during NCAA® Women's Final Four® Super Saturday festivities in Nashville.

A 5-11, forward from Sheridan, Wyo, Woodward led the Cowgirls in scoring (16.7 ppg), minutes played (35.5 mpg), field goals made (6.2 fgm) and attempts (15.3 fga). She shot 40.4 percentage (191-473) from the field and a team high 38.0 percent (79-208) from beyond the arc. In league games, she averaged a team high 16.7 points while shooting 40.9 percent (108-264) from the field and 41.9 percent (52-124) from beyond the arc. She also ranked among the Top 10 in five Mountain West categories both overall and in league play. This season, she was also honored as Mountain West Player of the Week once.

She was recently selected First Team All-Mountain West plus to the MW Championships All-Tournament team for the second straight year. As a sophomore, she earned Second Team All-Conference honors and was Third Team during her freshman campaign. Woodward is ranked among the Top 15 in eight categories in school history. She is sixth in three-point field goals made, attempts and percentage, seventh in free throw percentage, 11th in field goals made and attempts, 12th in points and 15th in rebounding. This season, she reached 1,000 points for career, one of 22 players in school history, and with 1,321 points ranks 12th all-time. Woodward has also recorded 70 double-figure scoring games, 12 double-figure rebounding games and 12 career double-doubles.
