Starting for the last couple of games, as a freshman and my first year with the team, was really intimidating. The nerves throughout the day stress me out, but they all go away when the ball is tipped off. The rush of the game makes me focus and the nerves do not come back until the following game. I hope that I can help the team in any way that I can, whether I start or come off the bench. When I started playing college basketball I found that the game was much more complex than I thought; but the great coaching staff for the Cowgirls has helped me to improve and understand the game even more. The overall experience here at Wyoming is one of great support. The people here are very nice and the Cowgirls have become my family.
Well the big "W" came the Cowgirl way during the Northern Iowa game. This challenge gave us great experience with a very competitive team. Northern Iowa was big and very aggressive on the boards but we pulled off a win with our teamwork and offensive intensity. Winning this game brought our record to 3-1 overall.
The Cowgirls are here in Laramie for their next game against the University of Colorado. This Big 12 team is a challenge for us, but we have the confidence and competitiveness to play with them and come up with a good win. Our quickness and defensive abilities will compete with their very tall line up. CU will be a great match up for us. The Cowgirls have this challenge to over come and then will face Texas-Pan American next.
I am looking forward to seeing you at our games cheering us on throughout the season! Go Cowgirls!!!
