May 8, 2000

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming Cowgirl head basketball coach Cindy Fisher announced today the signing of a student-athlete to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2000. Here is the signee:

Larissa Cordiano, 5-11, Guard/Forward, Melbourne, Australia:

A two-time First Team All-Region 11 selection at Iowa Central Community College in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. She averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and four steals per game on a team that went 26-7 and earned a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament. As a sophomore, she was a NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American. In her two years at Iowa Central, she also set the school record in both scoring and steals. Cordiano was coached by Mike Brown. She chose Wyoming over several schools.

"Larissa is going to be a great addition to our program," said head coach Cindy Fisher. "Her strength and versatility to play inside and out will give us great depth in the guard and forward positions. She is a proven scorer and leader, which will continue to help our young team."

Cordiano is the second student-athlete to sign a letter of intent with the Cowgirls this season. The other signee is Brenda Pickup, 5-7, guard from Brush Prairie, Wash.
