LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head women's basketball coach Joe Legerski announced today that guard Kristen Scheffler has been granted a medical hardship for the 2010-11 season. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"We are very happy that Kristen was granted another year of eligibility," said Legerski. "It has been a tough year for her, but we are looking forward to her contribution to the team."

A 5-10 guard from Lovell, Wyo., she played in six games before an injury sidelined her for remainder of the season. She was averaging 4.8 points and 1.5 rebounds. In her first two years with the Cowgirls, she averaged 8.6 points and two boards.
