Cowgirl Basketball Faces Montana State-Northern In Season Opener

The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will begin the regular season on Friday, Nov. 8, against the Montana State-Northern Skylights. The game is set to begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Sheridan Golden Dome. The Cowgirls won their only exhibition game of the season with a 92-35 victory over the Chadron State Eagles, on Friday night, in Laramie. They were led by junior Kaitlyn Mileto and freshman Kaylie Rader with 22 points. Rader also added a team high eight rebounds. For the game, Wyoming shot 35-72 (.479) from the field and our rebounded the Eagles 60-27.
The Skylights are 4-0 overall and this will count as an exhibition game for them. MSUN is led by A'Jha Edwards who is averaging 11.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. She is followed by Taylor Cummings with 9.8 points and four boards per contest. They return one starter and four letterwinners to a team that went 17-13 overall and 8-8 in the Frontier Conference. This is the first meeting ever between the two teams. MSUN is coached by Chris Mouat who is in his ninth season with the program.
Prices for the game are $13 for adults and $7 for children (ages 3-18). Doors for the game will open at 7:00 p.m. and all seating is general admission. Tickets can be purchased either online, through the UW ticket office or a very limited number of tickets will be available at the door. There is a limit of six tickets per customer.
