The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will continue play this week at home with one game. They will host the Denver Pioneers, on Friday, Nov. 16. The game is set for 5:00 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium. Live stats and audio can be found at www.gowyo.com.

Wyoming is 1-0 on the early season after winning their home opener, 86-53, over Idaho on Friday night. Sewell led the way with a game high 22 points and seven rebounds. Ashley Sickles followed with 17 points while Kayla Woodward chipped in 14 points. Alison Gorrell also finished with a team high seven rebounds. The Cowgirls shot 31-61 (.508) from the field and an impressive 17-20 (.850) from the free throw line. They also out rebounded the Vandals 41-34.

The Pioneers are currently 0-2 overall after suffering losses to Utah, 75-60, and Montana State, 73-55. Morgan Van Riper-Rose leads the way with 12 points in the first two games. She is followed by Maiya Michel who is adding 10 points and 6.5 rebounds. They return three starters and ten letterwinners that went 19-12 overall and 11-5 in the WAC last season.

This is the 21st meeting between the two teams. Wyoming leads the series 16-4. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 14, 2011 as the Pioneers defeated the Cowgirls, 74-49, in Denver. DU is coached by Kerry Cremeans who is in her first season with the program.
