Stucky Named MWC Women?s Basketball Player of the Week

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming guard Carly Stucky was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, marking the first time she has earned the award.

Stucky led the Cowgirls to a 95-77 win over Chadron State last week, scoring a career-high 20 points after going 5-of-9 from the field, 2-of-2 from 3-point land and 8-of-8 from the free throw line. The 5-10 sophomore from Pretty Prairie, Kan., also collected career highs for rebounds (8), assists (8) and steals (8) in the contest. A starter in the last 22 games of the season in 1999-00, Stucky played 31 minutes vs. Chadron State in her first starting role of the 2000-01 campaign.
