The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will continue their homestand as they host the Pepperdine Waves, on Saturday, Nov. 23. The game is set to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. following the Cowboy football game. Mileto's Career Night Leads Cowgirls To 72-50 Win Over Pepperdine
The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team (4-0 overall) brought home the 2012 Pepperdine Thanksgiving Title with a 22-point win, 72-50, over the Pepperdine Waves (2-3 overall) on Saturday, in Malibu. With the victory, head coach Joe Legerski becomes the all-time winningest coach with 176 career wins. He passes former head coach Chad Lavin who had 175 victories. Sophomore Chelan Landry was named the MVP of the tournament while Chaundra Sewell was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

The Cowgirls are 3-0 this season after a ten-point victory, 72-62, over Montana State, on Friday night. Four of five starters recorded double-figures led by sophomore Marquelle Dent. She finished with a career high 19 points. She was followed by Kayla Woodward with 17 points and a career high 15 rebounds. Fallon Lewis recorded 15 points and a career high 11 rebounds while Kaitlyn Mileto added 12 points. The Cowgirls shot 21-66 (.318) from the field and 25-38 (.658) from the free throw line.

Mileto is averaging a team high 15.7 points plus 3.0 rebounds per contest. Woodward and Lewis are each adding 15.0 points per contest along with 10.0 rebounds and 9.0 rebounds respectively. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 69-186 (.371) from the field, 46.3 rebounds and 72.0 points per game.

The Waves are 2-2 overall after falling to South Dakota State, 88-55, on Thursday night. Pepperdine is led by Bria Richardson who is averaging a team high 17.8 points while bringing down 4.5 rebounds. Ea Shoushtari leads the way with 7.3 rebounds along with 12.5 points. They return three starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 5-23 overall and 2-14 in the West Coast Conference. This is the ninth meeting between the two schools.

Wyoming leads the series 5-3. The last time the two teams met was November 24, 2012 as the Cowgirls defeated the Waves, 72-50, in Malibu. Pepperdine is coached by Ryan Weisenberg who is in his first season with the program.
