LARAMIE, Wyo. -

For the first time this season, guard Aubrey Vandiver has been named Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Nov. 28. It is the fifth time for her career.

Vandiver, a 5-10 senior from Laramie, Wyo., was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Woodland Hills Holiday Inn Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by Cal State Northridge, for her two-game performance last week. Vandiver averaged a double-double for the weekend with 22.0 points and 10. 5 rebounds per game as the Cowgirls won the tournament. Against Tennessee-Chattanooga on Friday in a 66-65 win, she scored a career-high 31 points, while adding 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and 25th of her career. She scored 15 of the Cowgirls' first 24 points to give them a 24-14 advantage to start the game. In the tournament championship game against Wichita State, a 63-55 win, Vandiver had 13 points and seven rebounds. She hit the final four free throws of the game to seal the win over the Shockers.

For the week, Vandiver averaged 22.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting .452 (14-31) from the field, including .333 (4-12) from three-point range. She shot .750 (12-16) from the free throw line and averaged 40 minutes per game.
