Cowgirl Basketball Travels To Air Force Classic To Close Out Week

The Wyoming basketball team returns to the road to wrap up the week at the Air Force Classic. They will face SIUE, on Friday, Dec. 6, at 4:30 p.m. and North Dakota State, on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2:00 p.m. Live stats, audio and video can be found through the women's basketball Gameday Central page located on the www.gowyo.com website.
The Cowgirls are 4-2 this season after a four-point loss against the 11th/17th ranked Colorado Buffaloes on Wednesday night. Two Cowgirls finished the night in double-figures led by junior Kayla Woodward. She recorded a team high 17 points and six rebounds. Mileto added 12 points while Fallon Lewis had eight points. Jordan Sibrel also had six rebounds as well. Wyoming shot 20-57 (.351) from the field and 14-23 (.609) from the free throw line.
Woodward is averaging a team high 16.2 points and 7.2 rebounds, while Lewis is adding 16.0 points and 7.4 rebounds as well. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 14.3 points while Landry is adding 7.7 points and a team high 3.0 assists. As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 152-374 (.406) from the field while averaging 40.3 rebounds and 72.8 points per game.
The Cougars are currently 1-6 overall this season. SUIE is led by Tierny Austin who is averaging a team high 12.3 points and 6.6 rebounds. She is followed by CoCo Moore with 9.9 points and 3.7 boards. They return three starters and eight letterwinners to a team that went 16-15 overall and 9-7 in the Ohio Valley last year. This will be the first meeting ever between the two schools. They are coached by Paula Buscher who is in her second season with the program.
The Bison are currently 3-4 overall. They will play Air Force before facing the Cowgirls. NDSU is led by Brooke Lemar with 17.6 points and five rebounds. Marena Whittle follows with 11.0 points and 6.3 boards. They return one starter and five letterwinners to a team that went 10-19 overall and 6-10 in the Summit League. This is will be the third meeting between the two schools. Wyoming leads the series 2-0. The last time the two teams met was Nov. 20, 2009 as the Cowgirls defeated NDSU, 68-60. They are coached by Carolyn DeHoff who is in her sixth season with the program.
