Wyoming in 17th After Opening Round of the Montana State Bobcat Golf Classic

LARAMIE, Wyo. -
In their first competition of the spring, the Wyoming Cowgirls find themselves in 17th place out of 18 teams at the Montana State Bobcat Classic being played in Goodyear, Ariz.
Wyoming shot an opening round 50-over par 338 on Monday. Brigham Young leads the tournament with a 13-over par total of 301.
Lindsay Snowden of UC Riverside holds a one-stroke lead in the individual competition. Snowden fired a one-under par 71. She leads Marci Hoover of Weber State, who carted an even par round of 72. Two more individuals are two strokes at 73, followed by a trio at two-over par 74.
Wyoming's top individual following the first round is freshman Michelle Camaione of Upland, Calif. Camaione shot a first round score of seven-over par 79. She is tied for 41st place in a field of 89 women's golfers.
The tournament is being played at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz. The course measures 6,050 yards, and plays to a par of 72. The second and final round in the 36-hole event is scheduled to tee off Tuesday morning.
