The University of Wyoming women's golf team finished up their season opening tournament with 18 holes at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. on Tuesday. UW shot a third round of 327 (+39) and finished 18th with 967 strokes (+103).
Baylor University won the team title with a score of 859 (-5), while the Bear's Josefin Svenningsson and Sian Reddick tied for top medalist honors by finishing at 210 (-6).

"We are not where we need to be right now," said Cowgirl first-year head coach Josey Stender. "This team has a lot of heart and talent, but they are just not applying it. They can and will get better.
"These next two weeks in practice we just need to work and focus on the areas that we are statistically poor at."
UW sophomore Laura Mengelkamp struggled with a third round tally of 83 (+11), which dropped her into a tie for 66th. Also shooting scores of 83 on Tuesday was Cowgirl junior Whitney Hernandez and freshman Mikala Henzlik. Henzlik improved each round she played in her first collegiate tournament. Wyoming's Kaelee Aegerter rounded out the group with a final round mark of 86 (+14).
Each team played five golfers and counted the four best scores.
The 54-hole Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic was played at the Ptarmigan Country Club. Ptarmigan plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,223 yards.
