Wyoming Cowgirls Compete at the CU Heather Farr Memorial

LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming women's golf team is sitting in a tie for tenth place after one round of the Heather Farr Memorial tournament in Broomfield, Colorado. San Diego State University leads the tournament by shooting a ten-over par 298. Emily Hoeper from the University of Denver is currently in first place with a two-under par score of 70. UW freshman Michelle Camaione finds herself in a three way tie for eighth place, as she shot a two-over par 74 on the day. Just one stroke behind Camaione is fellow freshman Kayla Morrison. The UW freshman duo both sit in the top 15 after one round. "Michelle and Kayla played fantastic today," said UW women's golf coach Jill Rettinger. "For freshmen to come out and play like they did is great. We're definately heading in the right direction.." Other Cowgirls that finished the round are senior Ashley Cariveau (+8), sophomore Whitney Hernandez (+15), and freshman Ashley Anderson (+21). The Heather Farr Memorial Invitational is hosted by the University of Colorado. The two day tournament is played on the Omni Interlocken Resort: Vista-Sunshine in Broomfield, Colo. The course measures 6,158 yards and plays to a par-72. The Cowgirls will tee off for the final round of the invitational at 8:30 tuesday morning.
