The Cowgirl Soccer team fell on the road to the San Diego State Aztecs 1-0 on Sunday afternoon as UW continues through the heart of their taxing MWC schedule. The Cowgirls slip to 7-8-0, 2-2-0 in the MWC while the Aztecs improved to 8-6-2, 3-1 in the MWC.

"This was a tough road loss to a team that is playing very well in our conference," UW head coach Anne Moore said. "We played hard and never gave up, but we could not find the back of the net."

Wyoming put a lot of pressure on the Aztecs in the first half outshooting San Diego 7-2, but a late second half goal by Aztec senior Jackie Ragudos proved to be the game-winner. The goal came at the 72:07 mark and was Ragudos's seventh of the year.

The Cowgirls were led by junior Tamika Wilson with five shots, while junior Amanda Lathrop and freshman Juliana Candelaria added two apiece. Wyoming took 10 corner kicks and Cowgirl senior keeper Ashley Sheppard made three saves.

"We have to move on and get ready for this week's games," Moore continued. "We play two of the best teams in the conference this week and we are excited to be able to play the rest of our games at home. We need to have a good week of practice and get ourselves prepared for the home the stretch of our conference schedule."

Wyoming will return to the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex this week to host BYU Thursday, October 25, at 3 p.m. UW will then take on UNLV Sunday, October 28, at 1 p.m.
