Wyoming Soccer Travels Overseas to Play Matches in Holland and England Next Week

LARAMIE, Wyo. -


University of Wyoming soccer will be represented in Europe for over a week as the Cowgirls will play a total of four games, two each in England and Holland. The team will arrive in Amsterdam on May 11 and play their first game against Ter Leede the next day.

"The team is very excited for our tour. We will be playing top-notch competition, but also seeing some of the most historical places in the world," said UW head coach Danny Sanchez. "The opportunity to represent the University of Wyoming and Wyoming Soccer on an international stage is a great honor."

Not only will the trip be am experience to remember, but the competition will be tough as well. The Cowgirls first opponent in Ter Leede is ranked the top-amateur team in Amsterdam. After a game with SC'T Zand, the next two games will be against top-ten teams in the Women's English Premier League. The Cowgirls will face 10th place Watford on Sunday, May 16 and Millwall, ranked seventh, on Tuesday, May 18.
