Seventh year head soccer coach Anne Moore and the University of Wyoming soccer team began fall practice today, Aug. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the North Forty practice facility. Moore welcomes back seven starters and ten letterwinners from the most successful team in Wyoming history.

Beginning today, the soccer team will practice each weekday morning at 10:30 a.m. and again each afternoon at 3 p.m. The Cowgirls will mostly hold to this schedule until the beginning of classes on Aug. 29. All practices will be held at the North Forty practice facility and are open to the public. Coach Moore and selected Cowgirls will be available at media day from 3-3:30 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 12.

"We have been building up to this moment since the end of last season and everyone is excited to finally get to work," said Moore. "We have a very strong group of returning players and a lot of talented newcomers. It will be exciting to get out there and put it all together."

The Cowgirls, who finished 9-7-4 overall and 3-3 in the MWC last season, will open the 2005 regular season at home against Charleston Southern on Aug. 27. They will play two tournaments during their non-conference schedule, including the 2005 UniWyo Cowgirl Shootout which will run from Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Laramie. The Cowgirls will play the bulk of their MWC schedule at home with games against San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico and TCU beginning in early October.
