LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming Cowgirl Soccer freshman forward Sara Paul has been selected to attend the Canadian women's training camp in preparation for the 2011 Women's World Cup.

"We are excited that Sara has the tremendous opportunity to showcase herself in front of the full Canadian National Team staff," said Cowgirl head coach Danny Sanchez.

Paul, a native of Calgary, Alberta, is currently sitting out her freshman season with the Cowgirls. She was the leading goal scorer and Golden Boot winner at the U18 Canadian National Tournament in 2009. Paul also played in a U20 international friendly against Mexico in November of last year. This will be her first full national camp and her first competition with the full Canadian National Team.

Canada, currently 13th in the women's world rankings, opened their training camp in Alliston, Ontario, on Tuesday, in preparation for an international friendly match against 14th-ranked China on Thursday, Sept. 30.
