COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Wyoming Cowgirl senior defender Laine Hubbard has been named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Mountain West Conference. Hubbard, who hails from Monument, Colo., led Wyoming to two shutout wins over the weekend.

On Sunday in UW's 1-0 win over Boise State, the senior anchored a Cowgirl defense that did not allow a shot on goal. In Friday's 1-0 victory versus Air Force, Hubbard helped limit the Falcons to only four total shots, including two on goal.

In addition to her defensive accomplishments, she scored the game-winning goal against Air Force, taking a shot from approximately 45 yards that slid past the goalkeeper.

Along with Hubbard, BYU freshman forward Lauren Anderson and UNLV sophomore forward Ashleigh Shoughro were honored by the MWC as Co-Offensive Players of the Week.
