Wyoming's Wilson Honored by the MWC for Her Performance Against Utah

Wyoming junior forward Tamika Wilson and UNLV senior forward Katie Carney have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while UNLV sophomore goalkeeper Alicia Lugo has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Wilson, an Orem, Utah, native, scored her 10th and 11th goals of the season in Saturday's 4-1 win against Utah. She also added an assist on the game-winning goal to give the Cowgirls the fourth seed for the MWC Tournament. With those scores, Wilson set the single season record for goals at Wyoming with 11. She now has 19 in her career which is tied for second most in school history.
Carney, a native of Lake Forest, Calif., scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime to give UNLV the 2007 MWC regular-season title. Carney tallied the lone goal in UNLV's 1-0 upset of No. 24 BYU. The goal was her fourth in conference play and seventh overall.
Lugo, hailing from Lancaster, Calif., extended her school-record shutout total to 10 in UNLV's 1-0 double-overtime win vs. No. 24 BYU. She faced 16 shots but made 10 saves to hold the Cougars scoreless and give UNLV the regular-season title. Lugo currently holds a 0.59 goals against average and has made 92 saves on the season.
