Here we are, the home stretch of the 2004 soccer season, with three more conference games before the tournament.
As a senior, I have been focusing on a lot of lasts lately. It's the last season, my last non-conference game...And this weekend was the last trip to California and Las Vegas I will take with the team.
I can't say it was the greatest weekend of my four years here with our delayed plane, crappy bus drivers, ending up on the hideaway in the hotel, and the loss of appetizer privileges. Not to mention our two losses and Stangl's busted knee. Needless to say, it was a long weekend. But, I know that there is something nearing that will shove us seniors off with a bang.
When else better to do it than Thursday against BYU and Saturday against Utah. Historically, they have been the best teams in the conference. This season, however, we have learned that anything is possible. I can't think of anything better to remember my senior season by than to beat BYU and then ride that momentum through to the championship game at conference tournament!
Thanks to all the friends and family that support us through wins and losses, home and away. You will never know how much it means to us that you are there to greet us after each game with faces gleaming of pride, no matter what the outcome of the game. See you this weekend!
