Cowgirl Tennis Swept By Broncos

The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team struggled with a 7-0 loss against the 57th ranked Boise State Broncos, on Saturday afternoon, in Boise.
In doubles play, the Broncos would win all three matches to earn the point. At the number one spot, the UW team of Rebecca Berger and Corina Lazar lost 8-2 against Polina Kokoulina and Pichittra Thongdack. Wyoming's Michelle Brown and Carly Van Hollen also fell to Laura Baum and Jana Mackova, 8-1. The Cowgirl team of Brittany DeFelcie and Jamie Nelson closed play out with an 8-1 loss against Bianca Jochimsen and Klaudia Wlodarczyk.
In singles play, Boise State won all six singles matches to earn the victory. Thongdack defeated Lazar, 6-0, 6-1, while Berger lost in two sets, 6-3, 6-0, to Kokoulina. Jochimsen earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Van Hollen. At the number four position, Brown lost 6-4, 6-0 to Wlodarchzyk, 6-4, 6-0. UW sophomore Sarah Summerfield lost to Stacey Housley, 6-2, 6-0, as did Nelson, 6-4, 7-5, against Baum at the sixth position.
Wyoming will close out the weekend tomorrow morning against the Idaho Vandals. The match is set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
