Jacksonville Sends Cowgirl Tennis To Second Straight Loss

The University of Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team fell to the Jacksonville Dolphins in dual action, Monday afternoon. The Cowgirls are now 5-5 overall while the Dolphins improve to 5-8 on the season.
Wyoming won two singles matches and one doubles match in their loss to Jacksonville.
The Dolphins claimed the doubles point winning two of three doubles matches on the day. Chien and Rowinski beat the Jacksonville duo of Antonioli and Bourot by a score of 8-4, earning the lone doubles victory for the Cowgirls.
Freshman Corina Lazar picked up a straight set win, 6-0, 6-2, over Daphne Bourot at the number three position as did Michelle Brown, 7-6, 6-2, against Megan Williams at the six spot. In No. 1 singles, Jacksonville's Emese Sulyos defeated junior Patricia Chien, 6-3, 6-3, while sophomore Karolina Rowinski fell in her match, 6-3, 6-2, against Lena Willi. Sophomore Amy Senko lost in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) to Nisrine Hajbane in the No. 4 match. In No. 5 action, sophomore Andrea House lost to Dana Antonioli in straight sets (6-2, 6-0).
The Cowgirls will return to the courts tomorrow as they travel to Daytona Beach, Florida to take on Bethune Cookman College, which is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. MT. The Cowgirls will close out this road trip on Wednesday afternoon as they take on Colgate.
