Wyoming Falls Against Jacksonville

The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team came up short with a disappointing 4-3 loss to the Jacksonville Dolphins on Tuesday afternoon in Jacksonville, Florida. The Cowgirls fall to 8-4 overall in dual play, while the Dolphins remained undefeated by improving their record to 12-0 overall.
It would come down to the doubles point as it was even after all six singles matches were played. Both seniors Yuliani Santi and Jennifer Hancock helped the cause by winning their matches as did freshman Karolina Rowinski. Santi earned a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win over Veronika Subertova as did Rowinski, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5, over Kim Packer. Hancock won the first set 6-2 and then her opponent Martina Strussova had to retire. At the No. 1 spot Jacksonville's Emese Sulyos defeated Patricia Chien in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, while Nisrine Hajbane defeated Amy Senko, 6-0, 6-4. In the final singles match of the day at the No. 6 spot, it would be Kristina Puck with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Andrea House.
Jacksonville took over in doubles play by sweeping all three matches. The number one team of Yuliani Santi and Jennifer Hancock fell 8-0 to Emese Sulyos and Veronika Subertova as did Karolina Rowinski and Amy Senko, 9-7, to Kim Packer and Nisrine Hajbane. The Dolphins closed out the match with Martina Strussova and Kristina Puck earning an 8-5 win over Patricia Chien and Andrea House.
The Cowgirls are scheduled to close out the week by playing the Wagner College Seahawks, Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m., in Daytona Beach.
