Cowgirl Tennis Falls 7-0 to Lobos

FORT WORTH, Texas -
The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team closed out their weekend with a 7-0 loss to the 38th ranked New Mexico Lobos, on Sunday, in Ft. Worth.
In doubles play, the Lobos took all three matches to win the point. The number one UW team of Andrea House and Karolina Rowinski fell to Iva Gersic and Lucy Scott, 8-3, while Wyoming's Patricia Chien and Corina Lazar lost 8-6 to Maja Kovacek and Ola Zekry. UNM wrapped it up with the team of Nora Quintal and Jennifer Ryba defeating Michelle Brown and Jamie Nelson, 8-2.
The Lobos would win all six singles matches as well. Rowinski fell in two sets, 6-1, 6-2, to Gersic. Chien, a senior, had a tough three set match, 7-5, 6-7, (10-5), against Quintal. Zekry won 6-2, 6-3 over Nelson while Scott earned a 6-1 6-2 win over House. At the number five position, Lazar battled Mackenzie White to a 6-1, 6-3 loss, while New Mexico wrapped things up as Ryba defeated Brown, 6-3, 6-4.
Wyoming will resume play on Saturday, April 1, as they take on the Colorado State Rams in Ft. Collins.
