The University of Wyoming tennis team split their opening matches of doubles play as they opened up at the Air Force Invitational, on Thursday afternoon, in Colorado Springs.

In flight two doubles play, the UW team of Corina Lazar and Sarah Summerfield won their opening match against the team of John/Preneta of Cornell, 8-6, as did Wyoming's Carolina Chaix and Jamie Nelson, 8-0, over Laco and Haycraft of Air Force. Unfortunately, Cowgirls Andrea House and Karolina Rowinski opened up the weekend with an 8-1 loss to Sackmaster and Bauregger of Denver. UW's Michelle Brown and Amy Senko also lost in their opening round against Brown and Seltsam of Colorado State.

"I felt we got off to a good start tonight despite only playing a couple of doubles matches," said head coach Krissy Hall. "We play once again in doubles and then start singles, so hopefully we can get a good day of matches in."

All four doubles team will resume play tomorrow as well as begin singles action. House and Rowinski will take on Krystofik and Shelly of Northern Colorado, Lazar and Summerfield will play Aksdal and Iwinski of Denver, Brown and Senko are set to take on LaForest and Xavier of Northern Colorado and Chaix and Nelson will play Smole and Schwab.
