The Cowgirl doubles team of Veronica Popovici and Dorottya Jonas came up short in a bid to reach the finals on Sunday at the 2013 ITA Mountain Regional Championships in Las Vegas.

"We had a good week out in Vegas to wrap up the fall," said head coach Dean Clower. "We got deep in most of the draws and are starting to play some good doubles. We have a lot of things to work in but are happy with the progress made over the last six weeks. We have some great leaders on this team, combined with some freshman fire which bodes well for the future."

Popovici and Jonas battled out their semifinal match with Lucia Batta and Aleskandra Josifoska (UNLV) but came up short by the score of 8-2. The duo finishes the fall with an 8-5 overall record.

Wyoming will be back in action beginning in the spring of 2014. They will start if off with a match against the Tulsa Hurricane, on Friday, Jan. 10.
