Cowgirl Tennis Opens Up First Day At Central Regionals

LARAMIE, Wyo. -
Three Cowgirls opened up with singles play on the first day of ITA Central Region Championship competition, on Wednesday, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Freshman Corina Lazar started things off with a two set win, 6-3, 7-5 over Jasmin Singh of Colorado State, but fell short in her second match of the day with a 5-7, 6-2 (15-13) loss to Outi Jarvinen of Arkansas Little Rock. Unfortunately things didn't go so well for sophomore Karolina Rowinski and freshman Kim Romero. Rowinski fell to Gleisy Torres of Colorado, 6-1, 6-4, while Romero fell short against Kindsay Grimes of Tulsa, 7-5, 6-3.
Junior Patricia Chien will be in action Thursday in the main draw of the tournament Both doubles teams will also play tomorrow.
