This Week: The University of Wyoming women's tennis team returns to action this weekend against Air Force and New Mexico in Colorado Springs. The Cowgirls will face Air Force at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and will take on New Mexico at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. The matches will be the first of the season for Wyoming against Mountain West Conference opponents.

Cowgirls Fall to TCU 7-0: Wyoming lost to Texas Christian University 7-0 Monday in Ft. Worth, Tex. Wyoming won one doubles match but was swept in singles action. TCU, ranked #30 in the country, won two of the three doubles matches to earn the one doubles team point. In the No. 3 doubles match the UW team of Paulina del Monte and Toni Terhaar defeated TCU's Leoni Weirich and Brenna Shackelford 8-6. But TCU won the other two doubles matches to earn the team point. In singles action the Cowgirls were swept in the six matches. The closest match came at the No. 4 singles spot, where Wyoming freshman Stacy Kneese lost to Saber Pierce 3-6, 6-3 (11-9). The match went to the tiebreaker set, where Kneese fell just short.

Wyoming Loses to SMU 6-1: Wyoming fell to SMU 6-1 Thursday in Dallas, Tex. The Cowgirls won one singles match in the dual. Junior Sofi Espinosa defeated Chrissie Terrill of SMU 7-5, 7-6 in the No. 3 singles match for Wyoming's only team point. With the loss to the #50 Mustangs, Wyoming's season record is now at 4-7.

The girls are doing the best they can but its been tough with the weather and the talented teams we've been playing.
