LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Wyoming Cowgirl Tennis team returned to the Campbell/ITA rankings and received their highest ranking ever in school history as it was released on Tuesday.

Wyoming as a team received a national ranking of 68th among 323 schools that participate in Division I women's tennis. Its' the highest ranking for the Cowgirls ever who entered the spring season in the 75th spot and were 73rd on February 14. The top five includes Florida, Stanford, North Carolina, Duke and Michigan.

In Division I, the ITA (International Tennis Association) National Rankings are determined by a computerized system, using the ITA's average points-per-match formula. The Division top 75 teams, top 100 singles players and top doubles teams receive an ITA ranking.

The Cowgirls are currently 9-3 overall this season and riding a four-match winning streak. They will host the Weber State Wildcats, on Sunday, March 27. The match is set for 10:00 a.m.
