Cowgirl Tennis To Host First Home Match Of Spring Season

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming Tennis team will be hosting their first match of the spring season on Friday, March 31, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the UW Tennis Courts.

The Denver Pioneers will be the visiting team and they are coached by Geoff Young, who is in his first season at the University of Denver. Denver is now 4-3 on the season and have just defeated Wichita State, 5-4, on March 24, 2000. They are led by two juniors Martina Pospisilova and Dita Kochloffelova. Pospisilova has been out for much of the season with a shoulder injury.

The Cowgirls, now 6-7 on the season, are looking to add to their three match winning streak. The Cowgirls have recently defeated Cal State Fullerton, Montana, and Gonzaga over the past few weeks. The team will be led by seniors, Melanie Roberts in No. 1 singles and doubles and Sarah Kay in No. 2 singles and doubles.

The next home match for the Cowgirls is April 16, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the UW Tennis Courts. They will take on the Falcons of Air Force.
