Junior (2011): Played in 19 matches with seven starts and 39 sets in 2011...recorded 24 kills (0.62 kps), 11 digs (0.28 dps) and 18 total blocks (0.46 bps)...tied her career high with five block assists against Illinois State (9/9/11)...recorded a season high five kills against UNC-Wilmington (9/16/11)...finished with four kills and eight attempts against Milwaukee (9/2/11)...had three total blocks against IPFW (9/3/11)...had two kills against Gonzaga (8/26/11)...led the team in blocks three times on the year...named to the Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar Athlete list.

Sophomore (2010): Played in 17 matches and 22 sets on the season...recorded 21 kills (0.95 kps) and 11 total blocks (0.50 bps)...tied her career high with six kills against Colorado Christian (10/19/10), while adding a season high four total blocks and a .417 (6-1-12) hitting percentage...finished with four kills, two block solos and hit .667 (4-0-6) against Wofford (9/3/10)...an Academic All-MW and MW Scholar Athlete selection for the second year in a row.

Freshman (2009): Played in 26 matches along with 11 starts and 72 sets in her first season...played in her first match of her career against Rutgers (8/28/09) and started in her first match of her career against Utah (10/15/09)...recorded 49 kills (0.68 kps) and 38 total blocks (0.53 bps)...in league matches, she had 37 kills and 32 blocks...finished with a career high six kills against San Diego State (11/5/09)...had five kills, plus a career high five block assists against Utah (10/15/09)...recorded two block assists and one dig against New Mexico (9/26/09)...finished with five kills and one service ace against The Citadel (9/12/09)...had four kills and hit .667 (4-0-6) against Fresno State (9/5/09)...earned Academic All-MWC and Scholar Athlete honors for the first time in her career.

High School: A three-time All-Conference and All-State selection, while attending Natrona County High School...during the 2008 season, the team went undefeated on their way to a 4A West Conference and Regional Championship...finished 28-5 overall and in the runner-up spot at the state tournament...as a junior, she led her team to 30-5 overall record and the 4A State Championship...coached by Sally Nichols...a four-year letterwinner in volleyball, she also earned letters in basketball...was a four-time All-Conference selection, while earning All-State honors twice...as a senior, her team won the 4A West Conference Title and Regional Championship...the team finished 21-7 overall and third in the state...an excellent student, she was a member of the National Honor Society and involved with student council.

Personal: Full name Makenzie Volker Bartsch...born June 6, 1990 in Helena, Mont...the daughter of Lisa and Richard Bratton and the late Mike Bartsch...has four siblings...her grandfather, Floyd Volker, was a member of the University of Wyoming 1943 National Championship basketball team...currently majoring in kinesiology and health promotion.
