Hey Cowgirl Fans!
With pre-season behind us, and with the first conference matches closely approaching this coming weekend, there is an eager attitude throughout our team. We look to improve on our 5-4 record by picking up two wins this weekend against UNLV, and San Diego State. Looking back on pre-season there has been huge improvements made in the chemistry and overall play of our team. I know that almost any program in athletics talks about improving, but our team this year is really taking it to heart; and I think that the potential for our team is really only dependant upon the desire to get better, which is enormous.
A large portion of our team is now approaching each match with one year of experience under our belts and that has made a huge difference in our confidence levels. We are looking to several underclassmen to provide leadership for our squad which is sort of a unique situation for a D-I program. When asked about how the youth of our team will affect our leadership roles, our team always has the same response. We are not going to look sideways. Our age, our competition, our experience is all irrelevant to the main focus of getting into the gym and improving every day. This year provides a huge opportunity to mature as players and leaders and develop our program. I also wanted to thank all of the fans who attend our matches and the support we receive from the University. Keep on comin', we should have good things to come!
