LARAMIE, Wyo. -

University of Wyoming head volleyball coach Chad Callihan announced today the hiring of Elizabeth Shuyler as the Director of Volleyball Operations with the Cowgirl volleyball program.

"We are excited to have Elizabeth join the Cowgirl Volleyball program," said Callihan. "Her personality and work ethic will be a great addition to our staff. She brings valuable experience working as a Director of Operations for both the indoor and sand programs at Georgia State. With preseason beginning right around the corner, Elizabeth's knowledge of the position will allow her to come in and hit the ground running."

Shuyler joins the Cowgirl staff after spending the last three seasons at Georgia State as a Graduate Assistant Coach and Director of Volleyball Operations. Over the past two years, she arranged team travel, ordered and organized equipment, coordinated home tournaments among several other duties. During the spring of 2013, she also assisted in the inaugural season of Georgia State's Sand Volleyball program. In her graduate assistant role, she helped break down game footage, created scouting reports, film exchange and other aspects of the program.

Prior to that, Shuyler spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Indianapolis. While at Indianapolis, Shuyler helped guide the team to a NCAA Division II Elite 8 appearance in 2009. The team finished ranked sixth in the nation by the AVCA and won both the Mid-West Region and the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Shuyler concluded her playing career at the University of Indianapolis. While there, she was a team captain and earning all-conference honors. During her final season, she helped lead the team to a 33-4 record, including a school-record 27 match winning streak.

She transferred to Indianapolis after a year at Walla Walla Community College, leading the team to a school-record 36-4 record and the NWAACC Championship. Shuyler earned Second Team All-America honors and was the No. 1 blocker in NWAACC, while leading the team in hitting percentage.
