University of Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball player JennaRae Jester was selected on Thursday to the First Team ESPN Academic All-District VII Team. Its' the second year in a row that Jester has been honored by CoSIDA as she was selected to the Second Team a year ago. In being named to the First Team, she now moves on to the ESPN Academic All-America ballot, which will be chosen on November 22.

A business administration major from Cheyenne, Wyo., Jester currently carries a 3.972 grade point average. She has played and started in all 25 matches this season, while averaging a team leading 1.43 blocks, which is second in the Mountain West Conference. She currently has 310 career blocks and needs eight to move into the Top Ten in that category in the school record book. Jester is also a two-time Academic All-MWC and three-time MWC Scholar Athlete selection, while earning ESPN Academic All-District VII honors during 2009. She was also one of third NCAA women's volleyball student-athletes selected as a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

The ESPN Academic All-District team is a part of the Academic All-America program. Student-athletes are selected in voting by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). CoSIDA District VII is made up of the states of Wyoming, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, must be at least a sophomore and must have participated in at least 50 percent of her team's matches.
