University of Wyoming head volleyball coach Pat Stangle announced the signing of a student-athlete to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wyoming. Lauren Whitney, an outside hitter, from Coto de Caza, Calif. will begin her career in the fall of 2007.
"Lauren is a complete volleyball player who has all the abilities to be successful at the collegiate level," said Stangle. "I look forward to having her join our team next fall and working with her the next four years."

A three-time letterwinner in volleyball and a team captain as a senior while attending Tesoro High School in Las Flores, Calif. Lately her team finished 8-2 overall to claim second place in league play and they will play in the second round of the CIF tournament tonight. During her career, she has earned Second Team and Honorable Mention All-South Coast League honors. As a sophomore and junior, she helped her team to third place finishes in conference play with 5-5 and 6-4 records respectively, while making it in to the second round of the CIF Tournament. Whitney played club volleyball with the Laguna Beach Volleyball club since the sixth grade. An excellent student, she has been on the honor roll through out high school along with participating in several scholastic activities. One of four children of David and Terra Whitney.
